I have a lot of egg roll wrappers, and i want wonton wrappers. Are they the same material at all? Because i want to just cut my egg roll wrappers to the size of wontons. If they are the same, what size are wonton wrappers normally, and what instrument should i use to cut the wrappers? If they are not the same material, will it still work? Or, where can i find some wonton wrappers, cause i think my mother got the egg roll wrappers from walmart and i don't know if they have wonton wrappers there. Thanks if you answer any of my questions. =)

ps. if you know a link to an awesome sweet and sour sauce recipe (preferebly one you have actually tried) i would love that, but that isn't really part of my question so you don't have to. Thanks

Just cut the dough with a knife or, even easier, you could use a pizza (wheel) cutter, if you have one. Make a yummy filling, seal them well with a bit of egg yolk and they'll be fabulous.

(This makes a lot so reduce quantities for less):
SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE

1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. cold water
1 c. plum sauce or plum jam or orange marmalade

Heat pineapple (with syrup), sugar, 1 cup water, the vinegar, and soy sauce to boiling. Mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water; stir into pineapple mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Cool to room temperature; stir in plum sauce. Cover and refrigerate. Makes 6 cups.

Enjoy!

Egg roll wraps can be used and they are made from the same ingredients as the wontons are. Don't worry they still taste delicious, whether you are going to steam, boil or fry them. Why don't you try going to a Asian market if you want wonton wraps, not the regular supermarkets.

I'm thinking that egg rolls are made from a dough-like substance, whereas (I believe) wonton wrappers are more paper-like. I would type in the Google searchbar: definition of egg roll
then type: definition of wonton
You should learn something about both - and their differences (or similarities).

They are the same thing. It's just pasta, really. You could even make lasagna with your egg roll wrappers, if you wanted to.
