What date did allied troops enter Essen, Germany?

The allies invadad Italy in 1943, France in 1944 and Germany sometime in the spring of 1945. I need the date they entered Essen.

in the first part of April 1945 Essen is part of the Ruhr , the industrial area of west Germany . Around end mars the Ruhr area was completely surrounded and in 13 April the smaller part of the pocket was taken and on the 21 of April the second part of the pocket was dissolved
