My special congratulations to you", because most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father, mother, country is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father, mother, country Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers. An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.

I don't really feel I deserve congratulations for my beliefs, but thanks.
I'm an atheist because I have never seen sufficient evidence that a superior being exists.
I think that we could do better by acting more loving toward each other here on earth than worrying about an afterlife.

it took a lot of things to make me into an atheist i started to think if there is a god then why in the world are so many people suffering if this god cant stand to see his/her people suffer? if whatever god does happens for the best then how come people are homeless and starving? how can people be sure of things like the bible and the Koran if these documents are millions of years old

You answered your question so well there is little to follow up with.
Christianity and islam was founded upon force, bloodshed, occupation and genicide.
There is no evidence of a god or heaven and the books they are based on are so comical that the big question is how could anyone follow that line of reasoning.

wow i think you answered your own question, and i agree with you, there is something about god(s) that is not logical in this illogical world we live in. I'm 50/50 about god existing because you never know for sure, but i know its not as simple as just reading some book(s) or going to some building and praying....i know peoples paths cross for a reason. sometimes things are just meant to be, meant to happen

It just doesn't make sense. It seems to be a devise to give people false hope when things go wrong and it's a mind control. A lot of money is spent in the name of "giving God his tithes" when people are hungry and unclothed.

Yeah well why am I a saint, and why am I holy? My parents weren't saints yet I am one. It's cause I used my religious fervor, and I was able to get sainted by an ersatz Pope. Instead of congratulating atheists, you should congratulate me. So there.

it was a tough choice to take but something just kinda clicked into place when i made the final decision. part of it is because i dont like the feeling of not being the master of my own destiny. part of it is because i dont feel the need for a god. there are many other reasons that i dont really want to go into.

I'm an atheist because to believe in God, defies all the laws of science and physics. It also defies rational thought and common sense. Simple as that.

Because I believe in my own logic more than fairy tales which they try to force us to believe by intimidation (the hell threat)
believing in god is for sheep

In a nutshell it defied logic. I read the Bible and there were too many contradictions.
Turning wine to water isn't impressive. Giving us the technology to wipe out hunger and disease would impress me.
