"Sharp" things seems to be the key. do you have barbed wire fences she might have tried to jump? Your vet can tell what probably caused the lacerations.

She was probably making good use of her quick walk about digging feverishly for something when she came upon some broken glass or a sharp rock. It takes them a minute before the realize the risk out way the benefits sometimes. Hope she's ok. My Jack russel lost a claw that way...it grew back.

It is best not to play guessing games. Check for material in the wounds. Clean the wounds. A vet might recommend an antibiotic ointment. If you must guess, go with digging. If the dog is not used to being outside, the paws might be soft and easily injured. Dogs which run loose in on pavement will injure themselves trying to escape dog catchers. Like I said, it's a guessing game.

You might want to check the land for sharp items, like a broken bottle, or fallen barb wire.
That's what comes to mind first.

Sounds to me like she had been digging. Or maybe trying to get through some fence or something. Was this at a p.m or a.m?
And is it only her front feet?
