I find it totally bothersome of all the students posting questons and asking people to do their home work for them. Is it me or isn't that what learning is all about. But who is worse? The students asking or the people doing it for them?

I will give that there are some students who are seeking help. To those I have no problems lending a hand if I am able. To those who post questions looking for the answer only or to have their essay written for them and take the easy way out....forget it!

What is worse? Instead of asking us to do their homework, they could have googled the answer for themselves. Which leads me to ask, just how stupid are they?

it's the math questions that bother me most.
How in the world is answering a math question online helping a student to figure out the process to get the answer?

I don't mind the english and history or geography questions though, some are interesting and I don't mind being refreshed.... and even doing alittle surfing myself on the subject. Then I posl the websites for them. :)

In most cases, yeah that's right. However, in some cases where algebraic equations are used, it's okay to help someone work the problem. This way they can use what they've seen done in the future. The math teacher usually works problems in front of the students so they can get the hang of it. But yeah, it is irritating I agree.

As a teacher, I find some of it appalling! If students are genuinely looking for help, that's certainly one thing. But asking for answers, written essays, or book summaries are my pet peeves..

Of course the "Do you think he likes me?" posts are a close second!

well, it depends on what you mean, is it a student posting many questions in one post, or posting over and over? or is it someone simply asking one question? doing one problem, giving them an example, i think is ok, as they will have many more problems of that type to do,,,, i would say i would only find it wrong if you notice the same student asking again and again,

Developing methods to cheat ones self out of knowledge is easy. Developing a method to abstain from cheating is something many kids probably would be better off straying away from.

I dont answer those questions. To me its a waste of my time. For one they dont appreciate it. And second, 5 or 6 people will go to all the trouble and only one will get 10 points for it. and third i bet they never even bother choosing a best answer. Im surprised anyone bothers to answer the homework questions.

The people doing the work for these students is the worst action taken. Students can ask all they want to but it doesn't mean some moron has to do their homework assignments.
