His dad did it to Moses, and they do say the apple never falls far from the tree.

But the catch is that he wouldn't stop you.

No, I wouldn't, because if that person asked me to kill anyone, He would no way be Jesus Christ. If you know anything about Jesus Christ, you wouldn't ask that question. Everyone know that Jesus never asked anyone to kill or harm anyone else, those who believe in him and even those who don't

You mean Abraham, not Moses, God was testing Abraham because He wanted to see if Abraham loved Him(God) more than his promised son, Isaac. Now that Abraham had his son, God was testing him to see if Abraham would walk away from Him(God) now that Abraham had what he wanted the most.

The catch is..........the hand of the Angel of the Lord did grab Abraham's hand to stop him from killing Isaac.

This was in a different world, a different time, a different setting and a different place....these days you are gonna get lunatics to say that the devil made me do it, or Jesus commanded me to it..

Satan cannot force you to do something, he can only tempt you with doing it. we make the decision whether we want to do what is being tempted to us or not. Jesus cannot force you to do anything for Him. That is where our free-will comes in, because if we are forced to do something, then we are like robots programmed to do every command, that isn't the case. Jesus loves us so much to give us that free-will.

Jesus would never tell you to do that. I know that God gave that command to Abraham in the OT but that was a foreshadow of Christ to come and providing himself a living sacrifice.

We have the OT & NT, and since Jesus' resurrection, we have the Holy Spirit. Any time we feel God is asking anything of us we need to look at the Bible and see what it says. Any time the Lord asks anything that major of someone, it comes with substantial confirmation. Error on the side of caution. If God would say that a persons days here are over, He doesn't NEED you to commit the act. And He wouldn't ask this. The battle is his. Ask him to really show Himself to you, his character, his values, what he stands for, and what he doesn't. He will. Ask for wisdom. He will give it lilberally. ~James 1:5

The Bible, God’s Word of truth, makes it very clear that Jesus was “guileless, undefiled, separated from the sinners.” (Hebrews 7:26) The Bible also says: “He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth.” (1 Peter 2:22) So Jesus could not have ask someone to do such “evil” to their family.

Consider Jesus and his apostles likewise taught Christians to show consideration for elderly persons and afflicted ones. Jesus told the hypocritical Pharisees: “God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Let him that reviles father or mother end up in death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother: “Whatever I have by which you might get benefit from me is a gift dedicated to God,” he must not honor his father at all.’ And so you have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition.” (Matt. 15:4-6)

No because it contradicts the Ten commandment. Thous shall not kill. If Jesus told you to kill, then he is not Jesus but The Antichrist. Even if the person who claims to be Jesus is Jesus, you should not blindly obeys. By obeying without question, you are being fanatic. You will be like those 9/11 suicide fanatic bombers.

I think you mean Abraham, and God wouldn't tell me to kill anyone without having a good reason. So, I'd obey Him, as hard as it may be, I would need to. I'd make sure it was God I was hearing first, and not my own sinful desires, but after that, and I was certain it was God, I'd have to obey Him. That's what serving God involves, giving everything to Him, even your family.

No. Abraham was provided an out . . . why do people who are mentally ill think they are supposed to do such things? Don't they hesitate and think where is the lamb?

Well, Jesus wouldn't tell me to kill them, he knows I love them and he loves them. But if he told me to kill them, I would not. I love my family a whole lot and I would know Jesus wouldn't do that.

if jesus told me to then yes. however jesus would never tell me to do anything like that.

The other problem is knowing when God has spoken to you, in other words, unless i was 100% sure that it was god and not satan that spoke to me then i wouldn't act on what i had been told.
