It is written as "YHWH" (without vowels) in the original Hebrew. Scholars believe it is pronounced "Yahweh" (the "h"s being the guttural sound like the "ch" in "Bach"). It isn't really a name, it means "I am", because God needs no name (remember Moses asking him, "What shall I tell Pharaoh your name is?", the Egyptians had a nameless god, how could the Jews have one who is less?).
The name "Jehovah" is an English corruption. The idea being, first of all, that the "J" be pronounced as a "Y" and "V" as a "W" because, well, it was Early Modern English and the letters "I" and "J" were interchangeable ("I" as a consonant being pronounced "Y"), and the letters "U" and "V" also being interchangeable, sometimes also covering for "W". The vowels were thought to be the same as for "Elohim", the Hebrew word for "God".

There's no evidence of any kind that there is a god of any kind.
People have called their made-up gods by many names throughout history: Osiris, Ra, Marduk, Zeus, Jupiter, Apollo, Thor, Gozer, Jehovah, etc. -- and of course, just plain old "god." They're all names made up by men for something that doesn't exist.

Since there's no such thing as god, you can treat the idea like an imaginary friend (which is exactly what most "believers" do) -- and call him anything you want to. Herbert. George. Anita. Big Sky Buddy. Whatever -- doesn't matter, he's not real :)

Yahweh

Abba (means Papa or "Daddy)
Elohim (Hebrew name for God)
I AM That I Am (Spoken to Moses at the Burning Bush)

YHVH Tzva'ot. (translated as "Lord of Hosts)
Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh (YHVH). It is often referred to as the Ineffable Name, the Unutterable Name or the Distinctive Name.

The one name God is not is Jehova was never known to the Jews and was an invented name-This came into the English Translation of the bible 1537 through William Tindale's Translation. This is the wrong name to use!!!!!!!!!!!!!

depends on which part of the Godhead you are asking about...

God the Father, his Hebrew name is Yahweh

God the Son(Jesus), his Hebrew name is Yashua

God the Holy Spirit is well the Holy Spirit(aka the Adcovate)

There is a poster that you can find in a Christian Bookstore that has a list of the names of Jesus(what he is referred to in the Bible).

Such as the Great I AM, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, it is a long list of names.

Satan is the God of this world. Any reliable bible dictionary will give you this fact.

So you ask yourself, why does the world worship God?

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Yahweh: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan has stolen worship away from the Creator whose true name is Yahweh (see Tetragrammaton).

As in the garden of Eden, if Satan can get you to disobey one word of the scriptures, you belong to Satan (Romans 6:16).

Learn to pray and to worship to your Heavenly Father by calling on him (by name) in prayer, and stop giving Satan worship.

I hear that Gods name is unspeakable on the human level of awareness. It seems to me that all names are but the names of God for god dwells within the hearts of all in the form of unconditional love, humility, peace,& silence. "GOD DWELLS WITHIN YOU AS YOU".
