Im curious as to what the church thinks of this topic, I mean does anyone really know what God says about marijuana use. It has been around for many many years, but not intill the 1900's was it looked down upon. But what does the catholic church say about it, and is there proof that God disapproves of people using it?

To the best of my knowledge the Church has not made a position known.

The Church teaches that citizens must obey all legitimate laws of the community in which they live.

Citizens are obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel.

The scientific, legal, and philosophical debate is still out on medical marijuana as is shown in the attached documents.

With love in Christ.

That will depend on who in the church you ask.
God? He forbids the use of drugs for intoxicating purposes.
In the English translations the term may be sorcery. If you have a Greek lexicon, look up the word pharmakia.
