Blame it on the Royal Dog, or the bodyguards...Or just laugh and say "Better out than in!" Email 'em some Beano on the double.

It doesn't matter whether the person is the Queen of England, the Pope, or the person who picks up the garbage from in front of your street. The correct thing to do is absolutely nothing. Ignore it. There is no reason to comment. Just sit there and suffer in silence and everything will clear up in time.

You should act normal as though nothing ever happened and if you're going to laugh, you should quickly ask to be excused and come back after you calm down. If it stinks tons, don't cover your nose, just discreetly pick up a paper towel and act as if you're coughing.

Your question is in poor manners.

The answer is, of course you should be polite and take no notice whatsoever of it ... just as you would do with anyone else (except, I suppose, your own children or siblings).

When in Rome, do as the Romans do: Join in with one of your own.
