There is a lot of things that happen on earth and in heaven that aren't in the Bible, and just because it's not, don't mean that it's not true, I get some of my beliefs from my experiences and others- sources.
If I write something in my question or answer a question, it's true from what I ascertain from my perspective, beliefs-experiences and sources.
example... when I say that there is a copper color fruit in heaven that you can eat, that gives you strenght to withstand God's glory.
It's not in the Bible, but I know it's true.... I wouldn't write it if I didn't think it was true.
So what is your perspective, thoughts on this subject of question?
Love and Peace be with you!

Like I said I don't write anything unless I feel I'm sure that's it true from my strong sources, and yes I am not always going to be right, but I go by feel of truth, and sources.

You are correct that the Canonized Bible is not the last and only word on God. God is way to big to wholly fit in there. Psst. Just because some theologians in the 16th century said that God is done writing does not mean God went along wiht them. There are many excellent, inciteful, God given words since then and I recomend reading all you can so that you may better understand just how huge and diverse God is.
Personal experience and conversation with God always trumps/usurps the Bible, any preacher and definately any Y/A er.

The bible is a collection of Hebrew texts that were first put into the form we know today back in the 12th century. There is no proof that it is anything more than that. It is full of contradictions and things that could not possibly have happened. Case in point... the Exodus. The bible says that the Jews spent forty years wandering in the Sinai desert. Archeologists have been over the Sinai with a fine-tooth comb and there's no evidence that anyone has ever lived there. You cannot spend forty years in a place and not leave some evidence that you were there. Keep in mind that the Sinai peninsula is the only place that has ever been called that.

This is one of the things that separates Protestants and Catholics.
Most Protestants believe in "sola scriptura," the idea that all religious truth is in the Bible -- and if something is not in the Bible, then it's not to be believed.
The problem with that is ... the Bible doesn't say that anywhere. There is no verse in the Bible that says that the Bible is the sole rule of faith -- not one.
That's why Catholics, although we believe that the Bible is inerrant, do not believe that the Bible is the sole rule of faith for Christians.
The Bible contains most religious truth for Christians, of course, but there's also the teaching authority of the Catholic Church. That's also a source of religious truth -- and the Bible clearly supports that concept also.

As a Catholic, many of our beliefs are based on traditions that have been passed down since the time of Christ. Some may not be in the Bible, like celebrating the Sabbath on a Sunday. Not everything could be in the Bible since the Bible was written for specific purposes. That does not make these things wrong or false. So, I agree with you.

When Christians say "Because it is not in the Bible, it is not true," we are defending the DOCTRINES of the bible. Many so called Christian churches have added their own doctrines that are not in the Bible and go directly against the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. Jesus warned us in scripture many times to watch out for false prophets and false teachings. They base their teachings on tradition and not scripture. Mat 15:3 Jesus replied "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition."
The closing words of the Bible gives us a warning.
Rev: 22-18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.

Of course, you are right!
However, I've beomce convinced that all truth is compatible with the Bible, and that the Bible as able to shed some contructive light on just about anything. So it's a great resource, a good foundation

I'm sitting in front of a computer. Thats true and it's not in the Bible. If it has to be in the Bible to be true then everyone is lying every time they say something that is not in the Bible

You're absolutely right, in my opinion. The Bible is inerrant in matters of faith and morals, but only as far as it goes - for example, it really doesn't have much to say about democracy, environmentalism, bioethics, etc., at least not directly.
Responding to these issues requires some sort of authoritative voice, both to apply the Bible to that issue, and more fundamentally to speak with the authority of Christ on that issue - "as one having power, and not as the scribes and Pharisees." Luckily, my Church has the Pope and the Magisterium to be that authoritative voice. Good thing, too! The world is getting very complicated nowadays.

Well, I agree. There are lots of things that are not in the Bible, and that does not mean that they do not exist. But if you told me that ..."there is a copper color fruit in heaven.........." , I would say, 'that's not in the Bible'.
There are lots of things also that are not in the Bible and are not true!

Yes, Truth is so widespread and infinite. A life of learning happens when one realizes that people who may have a different belief or prospective also have truth and may have more truth then yourself. For anyone, group, or belief to believe that they have truth to the inclusion of all others is a vivid sign of ignorance
and unmistakable stupidity.
