Answer to question asked: I LOVE dogs. I have a lab and a maltise/poodle. They both sleep in bed with us. I love having them with me all day doing whatever I do. I just wondered what other people did with their dogs.

My dogs and I consult at bed time. Usually I said bed and they run for the bedroom but if I am staying up late they will tell me it is time for bed.
We do this so they are safe and they feel comfortable. If I have a bad dream or hear something abnormal in the night I can take a quick glance and know where my companions are. Where else would they sleep???

I don't sleep with my dog. My dog is 4 months old and even though she is trained I still have her sleep in her pen at night and will continue to do so even as an adult. I don't think dogs should sleep with their owners. Little dogs such as mine could be seriously injured if the owner should roll over on them or be injured jumping on or off the bed. Larger dogs take up too much room on the bed.

When I had dogs they used to sleep with me. They were small (miniature dachsunds) and were like a blanket - keep you warm. However, I would have to rethink this if the dog was larger.

For instance, my brother in law had a huge dog which insisted on sleeping with he and his wife. Every night, the dog would climb into the bed between them and the wall. It actually pushed with its feet and my brother in law would end up on the floor. Funny if it doesn't happen to you!

An alternative would be to have the dog's bed in your bedroom, close but not on top of you.

Yes,If we mention "Nite-Nite"They run as fast as they can and run up the steps onto the bed.My puppies are tiny and they love to snuggle and root like little pigs. They go under the cover most of the time and sleep and come out when they get too warm.I know every move they make I would never smash them they are just like having my tiny baby in the bed with me.They are snugle bunnies.

I let my own personal dogs sleep with me. Many times the older two will sleep together on a dog bed, but sometimes they will come up to bed with me and my youngest dog (who is like a velcro dog and rarely leaves my side). I don't mind it because they are small, and I've got a queen sized bed. Plus they are good foot warmers. :-P

I don't have my Lab yet but when I get her I will certainly let her sleep in bed with me. I love sleeping with dogs in my bed, especially when the room is cold and you can curl up and get lost in each others warmth. Nothing as cool as sleeping with your dogs. And I think it deepens the bond between you.

yes my husband and I let our 2 labs sleep with us because I love them dearly and they are so happy to be with us in a warm comfy bed-even though most people think it's weird(that's the reaction that I get). I have talked to people who have even gone out and bought bigger beds so they will have more space!

Only if my house gets too cold at night even for me. Otherwise my dogs have to sleep in their crate. I don't want them to start thinking they are in charge and can do whatever they want. My sister has that problem with her dog. If she tries to kick him off the bed he will just bite and growl at her. Then she gets afraid and lets him stay. Who is in charge of that house?

Yes. I have 1 dog (soon to get 2) and he always sleeps on my bed with me. I think it gives me a sense of security and connection with him there. I love my dog very much and I think most dog lovers love their dogs more than they hate shedding on the blankets. I beleive its very healthy to sleep with a dog, it brings me a less stressful morning.

Yes. Just always have. You've got to keep them clean though. I love sleeping in a cold room and the pet will burrow right in to keep you both warm.
