I don't believe Christians "joined" the government. The Bible (and the beliefs contained in it) should never be constrained or limited by the govt., rather, it should be the conscience of the govt. If govt. goes against that "conscience", I believe it is every believer and every citizens right and obligation to bring govt. back in line with the beliefs that have been laid out in the constitution. Every framing document written by the founders of this country began with the requests of guidance and blessings of God. For people to say that Christianity has never been a part of our govt. is simply ludicrous. While they may have not been perfect, the founders held a standard that was based on God's standard; as laid out in the Bible.
The standard by the way, is not the Christian next door, or the lady down the road, or the preacher on TV. The standard is Jesus. Don't judge Christianity by the followers, judge it by the leader (Jesus) and you will never by disappointed.

No. I do not agree because Christians have no interest in joining the government in order to gain position or prestige. Besides, in government there are people who are of different faiths and who do not necessarily agree with a Christian point of view. Besides, the government that we have was elected by us and works for us. If we don't like its policies, we can also vote to change those policies. When Governor Schwarzenegger proposed certain measures in California, many people agreed with him and many did not. At the end, the people voted and had their way. It is the same with the federal government. Just we have a president who is a man of faith doesn't necessarily mean that all Christians agree with all of his policies since Christians are people with diverse personal preferences just as non Christians are.

If you are talking about the USA you are confused.... christians founded this country and gave you the rights you enjoy now. Only when christians have become neglectful of what is going on in society and government , has the devil walked in and took over.
The christians protect the rights of others but also want their own rights protected....like freedom of religion,.. there is also the issue of right and wrong. Some things that are legal now are just plain wrong.

No, I don't agree ! satan, is all over. It is the Christians and other believers in God, who are in all Governments to fight and conquer the beast. Government Officials work hard to fight off the devil. They certainly don't invite it in. Sometimes satan shows up, un-invited, and the good people work hard and enforce the Laws of this land to get rid of the devil. It is a constant battle.

You should name the corporation.
You should name the governemnt.
And we, as Christians, are supposed to work with and in the governemnt for the common good. Excluding oneself in a self-serving little group where you have an "us-against-them" mentality is not Christianity. It's cultism.
