And imagine if this person would be kind and loving, and would they be good with the kids or if they could take you out of you life and show you the world and a deeper meaning to life?

I do search date sites...I make up profiles and search... laughing at most peoples profiles and thinking to myself how many are being real and how many of those people are just trying to get a one night stand its comedy and takes up time

Lol, it's not just you. I think most of the people on those sites are people like us, just looking to see what's out there without being looking for anyone. Just window shopping :)

i do that all the time even though i'm not the member of any dating sites.
it's fun to see ppl's pics and read their profile.
of course i only check out the cute one and imagine what type of person he is.
sometimes i even find my friends or coworkers on there.

its not abnormal to dream for something better. just be carefull what your expectations are, and take things slow. this is because many of the people on the internet use it as a social crutch, because they are unable of functioning normally in society. i have to say ive tried it, i moved overseas for a woman on the internet. it was a terriffic experiance, but not without its drawbacks. and anymore, i stick to meeting women in the real world, its much more rewarding and meaningfull.

I really don't see the point, whats the use in pretending, it's a shear waste of time, longing for some thing that you know you can never have.

I used to, but my wife got mad so I quit. She'd get really mad when I did local serches even though i was just curious. I never contacted anyone. Life is good now.

I dont imagine people like that go on dating sites, some of my friends have registered, the girls are ok but the men are freaks from what i hear...

I do just because I want to see what kind of people are listed, they might not really be the person they say they are but it is still fun to look.

I look at the Yahoo Personals and see that 85% of the guys have icky moustaches. So, that should clue them in but apparently not. Then you have the psychos who type in all caps and insist on "no games", whatever that means in their hillbilly land. *shudder*
