It's not about feelings. If you've asked Christ into your heart, you're in baby! The Holy Ghost is already in you, even if you don't feel it.

Do you feel bad when you do something wrong? Most likely that is the Holy Spirit convicting you of sin and your need to repent. Even a non Christian can feel the Holy Spirit convicting them of sin, but each time you sin and don't repent of it, your heart becomes a little harder. After awhile you get to where you feel nothing, a very bad state to be in. The Holy Spirit is what draws us to God, you can feel him pulling on your heart. Once we become truly born again we will feel his awesome power at work helping us to become more Christ like.

Life is very short, we never know when we are going to die. I would spend hours talking with a very good friend of mine about his need to be saved. He said he didn't need God in his life, that he had everything he needed. From time to time I would give him a track to read about God. He would read them and laugh at them. One day I had a very good track that fit his lifestyle perfect. When I found him he was on his way out for a night of partying. I showed him the track, and he said he would read it when he came back. He never came back, he was killed that night in an accident. So you really need to think very hard where you stand in your relationship with God.

Jer. 10:13 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

2co 6:2 Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation.

If you accept salvation, you get the Holy Spirit. It's a package deal. Heck, Jesus even said to His disciples that it was better for them that He was going away, because now they got to have His Spirit living inside of them.

A lot of people don't believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit (e.g., prophecy, healing, speaking in tongues). That doesn't mean they don't have the Holy Spirit or aren't going to heaven. I think it just means that certain aspects of the life of a believer aren't as enriched for them.

you have to have the Holy Ghost to get to heaven

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(that is the Holy Ghost)

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

No, many people accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and Believe in Jesus and never learn to recognize/feel the moving of the Holy Spirit. Jesus says in John 3:16 "whosoever believes" shal hae everlasting life.

No. We are not to live according to our feelings. What would we ever accomplish. The just live by faith.
It is wonderful though when the Holy Spirit's presence is felt.

No, feelings are impermanent.

We have to believe through faith in the Holy Spirit's presence in us to achieve heaven.

Many years ago ,I kept thinking,I don't feel like the Spirit is in me.I tried asking stupid requests like "How about the gift of tounges or something so I'll know your there?"
Finally one night I was lying in bed and I thought to myself 'How do I know?' and man,let me tell you .He sent a shock of electricity through me that said"Believe it!" It was quite a jolt! I never doubted again. That was about 23 years ago.
