Cancer in all forms. It claims so many lives everyday. I am currently watching my Papaw die from this horrible disease. His has metastasized to his entire body, and watching him waste away and lose weight, have so much pain, and suffer absolutely kills me too. I have also had many other friends and family members suffer with cancer, including my mother who had breast cancer. I pray every day that a cure will be found for it.

So many horrendous diseases that affect all of us need to be eradicated, but for personal reasons I would say ALS ( Lou Gehrigs disease ). I have just lost a family member to ALS. From the moment the patient is diagnosed it is a death sentence as at this time there is no cure, and no effective treatment. The disease progresses at different rates with individual patients but the end result will eventually be the same for all patients. ALS takes everything.... your mobility, your speech, your money and ultimately your life. Also, ALS is as difficult on the family, friends, and caregivers as it is on the patient.
