They may.
What I think is interesting-it was a Turk who shot the last Pope.
And, this is all coming -if it happens-from Turkey--a country very liberal on their Islam.

Those idiotic claims about the Pope--that he is a pedophile, that he "hates Jews," that he is a Nazi--where do people come up with these crazy rumors? Are they the same as the rumors that Israel has killed over 2 million Palestinians? No one with the intelligence of a brain-dead monkey would buy it. The Pope simply quoted a medieval speech by a Byzantine emperor who said Islam was violent, and in the next few hours Muslims killed priests and nuns and firebombed churches and passed death fatwas against him to prove his point. Let's not forget that 2 out of 3 attempts on the life of the last Pope John Paul II, were made by Muslims. He was shot and wounded by Mehmet Ali Ağca while on tour in Turkey in 1981 and attacked by an Al Qaida suicide bomber dressed as a priest in the Philippines in 1995! Muslims seem to want to do the same to the current Pope. If Benedict hates Muslims, more power to him!

Not sure about the jihadists in Turkey, but according to papal prophesy, this pope does not stay pope for long, I think it says he gets himself killed. The next pope is the defector. Supposedly, he will be one of the extreme liberal cardinals and he will betray the church calling himself Peter II.....something no pope has dared to do. He will begin an anti-christ reign as pope, not necessarily as THE Anti-christ.
It's prophesy. You can take it or leave it. Who knows wether it will happen or not. So far, the papal prophesies have actually happened. Maybe just dumb luck.
I was thinking about Pope Benedict's trip to Turkey. It's a bad idea. It's no secret that peacful jihadists want to kill him there.

Interesting to speculate about. I have read that according to Father Malachi Martin, who had the vision of all the Popes, that this is the second from last one, and that he would not live long after becoming Pope. I have also read speculation about the next, and last Pope being the Antichrist. Time will tell.

Papal "prophesy" aside, I don't think anyone (except the jihadists, of course) wants to see the Pope become a martyr. You can be gloomy if you want to, but pray for the Pope anyways! he needs it.

There will be very tight security in Turkey to ensure the safety of the Pope. They do not want him to become a martyr!

"That's all that can happen..." That's a rather pessimistic, paranoid view. None of us know what can happen if he visits Turkey and the leader of a "religion of peace" knows that he must reach out to other cultures if peace is going to succeed.

Yet another martyr to Christianity, and another stain on the false religion of Islam. And that's a bad thing because?

Succeed in shooting him? No, I don't think they can, but someone will try to do it, that I am sure of it. Or at least they will riot against his visit, that they will do either way. We will have to wait and see.
