He went through a divorce in Feb 04, got involved with another girl and was engaged to her she called it off in July 06, saying she had commitment issues. We have been together since August 06 and he is still hung up on her and cant get over her. He wants to he just can't seem to.

Wow I hate to say it but you might be the rebound girl. Look how quickly he went from a divorce, to a fiance, then to you in like a month. He probably has issues with being alone. You cant make him do anything, it has to be him that wants to move on with you. Maybe with all he has been through he doesnt want another serious relationship right now. Give it time, dont push him into any committments.

Well, it was a long time and he's been with you since shortly after. The best thing you can do is back away and let him make a decision. Don't be his rebound. It isn't worth the heart break and if he is still with her in his mind, it's about the same as cheating. What you have to decide is how long are you willing to put up with it? Then tell him you are through with it and move on. If he smartens up and see's he is alone he may figure out how it's been for you and want you back but, you still have to wonder if it's really over or not in his heart. So, that's a tough one for you but for me I'd back off and make it hard for him to make him understand that it's not going to go on the way it has been. Good luck.
