There are so many stories related to this question and its interesting to what people have to say.... It's very sad to hear about it, because these "kids" are so young. Many don't realize the consequences of commiting a crime or killing a person by accident....

Guns are used to prevent over 1 million violent crimes a year. That is far, far, FAR in excess of the minor amount of problems they cause from irresponsible use.
Wherever you find guns in widespread ownership, you see crime evaporate.

Hi Lite, Alot of these young men really don't know a gun can really be a dangerest weapon. When terrible accidents happen, they didn't know it was loaded, and start playing a game with a deadly weapon.Another thing some of them feel powerful with a gun in their hand.they think they can do anything with it. It's not worth killing someone and going to prison the rest of their life. Some do no the consequences and just don't care.

Young people look at firearms as a way to say "look I have power". T.V makes it look cool and so does the music and movie industry. Such a same they are so uneducated.

It is a way to deal with their insecurities as firearms give the handler a feeling of power, and rightly so.

Actually those trained in the proper use and handling of firearms have a *much* greater understanding of the dangers of their miss use than you obviously do.

Boys usually like things that go bang.
Boys becoming men want power. Firearms represent power, they are power in a very real way.
