Ignorance to other religions and beliefs. They do not understand and therefore judge and become irritated too.
If everyone was more accepting toward everyone else, there wouldn't be such a problem.
Personally though, I have no problem with it, if they are happy with it.

No idea. It certainly doesn't irritate me. I've seen some very pretty headscarves in bright colors. If Muslim ladies want to wear headscarves, I see no problem with it. I'm certainly not threatened by the sight of a Muslim woman wearing a headscarf when I go down to the local Wal Mart or if I see someone walking down the street wearing one.
Not sure why anyone would be except maybe out of ignorance, out of not understanding why they wear the headscarves. Or maybe they see it and think she's being repressed as a woman by having to be modest in our oversexed society. I obviously don't think that, frankly, we could use more modesty in a society where seven year olds are encouraged to bare their bellies like Britney Spears.
I guess people are afraid of things that are different for them, especially in small communities, and don't understand why Muslim women wear the headscarves. I might not understand the religious significance, but I can certainly respect modesty and their right to wear a headscarf if it's part of their culture and religion. Others, I guess just can't get that.

Plenty made fun of the Jewish "beanie". People love to make observations on anything that is different. It's not necessarily "irritating" just because someone makes a comment about it.
Put a bunch of frogs in a tank and one has a massive red spot on his back. Just about any group will have some make a comment about THAT frog.

Personally it doesn't bother me.I guess it would only bother me if it was a burqa, because I like to see people's eyes when I speak to them. But I like the fact that some Muslim women choose to cover themselves. It keeps their beauty for their man only, the way it should be.If the woman chooses to do this, why should it matter. And from all of the Muslim girls I've talked to on answers, all but one wear hejabs because they want to.The one says she chooses not to.
Why should someone else's religion bother me if they practice peacefully?Jews don't bother me any more than Muslims.Hindus don't bother me anymore than Buddhist.
I'm Christian.

personally i don't care what people wear but the fear of the muslim head scaff can partly be attributed to the Black Widows of Chechnya. They were the first ones in undercover when they blew up that school in russia, almost every terrorist attack in russia the black widows have played a major part in. I think its western culture not to trust anyone who hides their face, ie a bank robber. so i guess muslim women fall into this catagory.

1. When they are covered, it's more difficult to see their individual uniqueness.
2. Modesty is a good thing, but women shouldn't be punished for being beautiful. Wearing that thing on a hot day has got to be very frustrating and restricting.
3. It makes them falsely think that they are better, or more spiritual than other women...at least this is what they are told...I've read the websites.
4. It allows other people to immediately categorize them, and discount their point of view if they do not agree with Islam.
5. If you just asked them to cover their hair it would be so classy & beautiful, but you make them cover all around and under their face...they don't even get the liberty of looking entirely human.
6. A full covering (burka) is a security risk, plain and simple.

Maybe It's because it hides their facial expressions..
I really like to see how people react to things with their expressions..
I mean wearing the scarf doesn't bother me really.
I'd like to know if all women actually like wearing it, and if they were given the choice at a young age, would they wear it.
But you see there must be some sort of compromise.. I mean, if they want to do what they like, with their religion, they must respect the Majority religion of Britain, and let us get on with our celebrations, i.e christmas... we shouldnt have to change any traditions.

We just do not feel comfortable in talking to somebody you cannot see his face. This might be OK from a Muslim point of view, but here, in the UK, we have different rules and I believe Muslims should abide by them.

I dont think it irritates people, I just feel people are a bit resentful of the actions of islamic extremists and their trying to mould the world according to their beliefs that people take out this frustration on the everyday muslims around them that probably have nothing to do with it.
I dont think muslim women had it so bad until recently.

Because, owing to the fact that some people choose to wear it and some don't, its clearly NOT stipulated by their religion.
You can't understand them properly underneath all the garb
Only someone with things to hide, hides their face.
Thats just a few reasons
