For a main dish how about a Honey Baked Ham. They are delicious cold, no reheating required. As for festive, that can be taken of with decorations and atmosphere. Nice Christmas music, beautiful table. A family gathered together. All that could make delivery pizza seem festive! A crock pot is a great idea! One could make a stew, a yummy soup. Cheese and crackers are always a nice idea.....

Go to the store and buy Sliced turkey tell him to make it a little thicker than what they do for sandwiches.Get 2 cans of turkey gravy to heat up on the burner,Heat this in a big frying pan when everything is done just pop in the Turkey to heat . Get a box of stuffing when mixing it use hot water, then put it on the burner to heat. Buy a can of Cranberry Sauce. And a can of Sweet Potatoes heat on the burner. Don't forget the apple pie for desert, & Coffee. and to top the night a cordial by the fire. You can also do the same idea with Roast Beef, Mashed potatoes ,vegetables etc etc.

If I was in your situation, I would make a pot roast in the crock pot. I mix a can of cream of mushroom soup with a packet of Lipton's Onion Soup mix. It cooks on low for 8 hours and it so good. You can cook vegetables on the bottom of the crock pot with the meat on top, but I can never get the vegies to cook enough that way (maybe you can).
Here's what I would serve:
French Onion Pot Roast with Gravy -- crock pot
Mashed Potatoes -- stove
Store bought rolls
Big Ceasar or fresh green salad with all the good stuff
Rasberry jello salad (add rasberry yogurt and rasberries to the jell-o recipe)
I hope this helps! Have a very Merry Christmas and Good Luck!!!

You can cook a ham in your slow cooker! Try pouring about two cans of cola into the slow cooker, placing your ham in, and heating it on low heat for about 4-5 hours. If you don't want cola ham, you could use a couple of cups of any kind of liquid... try pineapple juice and bourbon, or even just water.
Happy Holidays!

Last year we did a huge pot roast in the crock pot and everyone loved it. It took away from the same old thing, and was very good. You could also buy a smoker type of grill if you have to have a Turkey and smoke it. You can do your potatoes and other things in the smoker as well.. Good Luck

The slow cooker would be perfect for heating the Christmas pudding. I use it by choice as you get far less steam in the house and there's no risk of it boiling dry.
