Jesus was quoting Pslam 22, which is an account of his crucifixion, written a thousand years before it actually happened.
He did it just so people in this day and age could ponder such things, and hopefully, come to believe.
And yes, Christianity is steeped in blood; the blood of the prophets, the blood of sacrifical animals, the blood of Christ, and the blood of the martyrs.
But it's only Christ's blood that saves and makes possible the forgiveness of sins.

Our sins, which He bore in His Body on the tree/cross were so great that they could, for a short time, separate God the Son from God the Father.
No, Jesus did not "regret" what He did. He went willingly to the Cross [remember He could have called 12,000 angels to destroy the world and set Him free; but He died alone, for you and me].
The "icon" for Christianity, for early Christianity, was the sign of the fish [the letters for the Greek word for "fish" are an acroustic for "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour"].. Also, some adopted the sign of an EMPTY Cross for Jesus the Saviour accomplished the work of Atonement once and for all time, His body rested in the grave until the third day when he came forth and so the Cross and the Grave are EMPTY.
One MIGHT more accurately say that Judaism could be considered a blood "cult" -- for it was based on a Covenant that was sealed with blood; Christianity is the New Covenant; there is no more sacrifice for sin.

I've asked that too. How come christians believe in god but right before he died, the last thing jesus said, was eli eli lama sabbachthani, which right beside it the translation says it means " my god, my god, why have you for saken me"? So did this mean JESUS even denounced God before he died, maybe he was expecting 20 flights of angels to come get him down off the cross or something?

Firstly, he did not shed his blood to establish any religion. It was to save us. We are saved by grace through faith. ever heard of that one.
when he was saying father why do you forsake me it was because the weight of sin was on him as the perfect sacrifice and God cannot be around sin, so he seperated himself from Jesus during that brief time. Being Christian is not a religion, it is a life style and faith.

Yes, God decided this was the way to forgive us of our sins which is alot. When he said you forsaked me this means why have you left me. Because Jesus felt God was not with him at this point which is true because all of our sins were pinned on Jesus and God hates sin so to Jesus it felt like God had left him

It just doesn't seem like that big of a sacrifice for an all powerful God that can't die, to sacrifice him self so that we could be saved. 36 years on Earth isn't even a blink of an eye to a being such as God. Just sounds like a false story or that it has been twisted and modified some how.

Jesus Christ shed his blood on Cruel Calvary's Cross. Jesus had to fulfill the prophecies, and He didn't regret it.

He shed his blood to fulfill the passover. Its a Jewish feast. Read about it. It is about forgiveness of sins. He was the lamb.
Yes, God requires blood shed for sins. Thats God, not Christians.
Blessings
David
