This is Israel’s Thanksgiving feast in which they acknowledge the Fall harvest and God’s provision for them. It is happy celebration and a time of joy and rejoicing.

The Feast of Tabernacles, also called Booths, comes on the fifteenth of Tishri (September-October), the seventh month according to the Jewish (biblical) calendar.

On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.

If we look closely in Leviticus 23:34-35,39-44; it tells you on how to do it as celebrate it.
At the 1st day of the feast as well as the 8th day; you keep it holy by doing no work, going to church that day, reading your Bible and resting.
As times change; some churches do these booths mentioned in Lev.23 in their houses and maybe outside their house as others do motels or hotels for 8 days. As for I and my children, we dwell in a tent during the feast. We worship the (holy)first day as well as the (holy)8th day of the week by reading our Bibles and singing songs to the Lord. As for the week, we gather to do Bible study as read our Bible. It is a time to be close to the Lord. it is quite fun to be together with God as well as your family; a close bond.
