Hey, it's all right with me. I am a Christian, but I don't believe anyone can persuade another person to change what he believes.
I was an atheist until I was thirty and came across some pretty compelling evidence. I know there is no such place as hell, so forget about those losers who cling to that superstition.
Later
See all the thumbs down I get for denying hell?

Hi, it does not offend me that you don't believe in God, on the contrary, it makes me glad that you posted this question, because believe it or not, God has a reason for you doing that. He wants to talk to you and he is actually reaching out to you love. You say that this is "me", but is it really? Who are you? How did you get in this world, something must have happened to bring you here. THe free air you breathe, who supplies it? Definitely not man, but a higher power, who is GOD.
YOU SAY THAT YOU ARE AN ATHEIST, WHICH MEANS YOU BELIEVE IN NOTHING. hOW CAN U BELIEVE IN NOTHING? AND IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IN NOTHING, THEN SURELY, ISN'T IT EASIER TO BELIEVE IN SOMETHING?
No one knows who is going to rot in hell and who's not, apart from God and no one has the right to tell you that just because you don't believe , you are going to rot in hell, you are not bad for not believing, you are just foolish and ignorant and you know what they say, ignorance is no defense and come judgement day, that's going to haunt you.
Look, i have a suggestion which i would like for you to take up. Just the same way you gave atheism a chance, also give christianity a chance. Open up a bible and let your heart open and see what happens, read a chapter in the book of Mathew and see what happens, after all, what do you have to lose? You already believe in nothing, right?

>>> What I do want to know is, why do all the belivers out there insist on telling atheists that we are going to rot in hell and that we are bad, bad people for not believing?<<<
Come on now. Are ALL the "believers" really doing this?
All?
I think not. I certainly don't do that, nor do any of the other "believers" who I know.

I have no problem with you believing in what ever you want. As a Christian (a true one) I am supposed to try and tell you about the gospel. If you don't want to hear it, then I am also supposed to respect your desire not to hear it.
Some people don't have a stopping place. They have to be told very bluntly to shut up. One problem is that every time you come across another Christian, they may not know about your desire not to hear the gospel-then you will have to tell them also. Another problem is that many people on YA ask inflamatory questions, and often seek to incite hatred from Christians. This works. I have even lashed out at "instigators".
BTW, why are you asking questions on R&S if you do not believe in God? Maybe you should be in some other section.

It isn't that Christians hate you, think you're a bad person, take offense at your unbelief, or don't respect your right not to believe in God. It's just that we care enough to want to share the good news of the peace, joy, and freedom that we have found in Jesus Christ. We were all unbelievers once, too (before the Lord revealed to us who He really is.) Many of us were atheists, like you. Some were agnostics, as I myself was, but we now know better.
Let me explain our desire to share what we have found with you this way: If you saw someone heading toward a cliff that they didn't believe was there, would you refuse to intervene because you respected their right to believe whatever they want or because you thought they might believe you thought they were a bad driver? Of course not! If you really cared about them, you'd do whatever it took to make them see what was ahead if they didn't alter their course.
Before we came to Christ, we were in the same place, heading down the same dead end street, so we just want to share with you the true "Way" to peace with God, both now and in Eternity: Jesus Christ. Is that really so bad?

I respect everyone's choice in what they want to believe. If you tell me you don't believe there is a God, then I might ask why not. If you say you don't want to talk about it. Then I will not push my beliefs on you, and we can still be friends. If you ask me what I believe, then I will tell you everything.
As Christians we are to warn you of living a life without God. But no one should say out of anger you are going to hell. If we don't warn you, then we will have to answer to God one day.

Well Most Christians are not part of the "Church of Condemnation" which has has three distinct sects, the "Church of Guilt", the "Churhc of Hate", and the "Church of Fear"
The ones you refer to are part of this group and because of their vocal behavior they have given the majority of Christian, part of the "Body of Christ/Church of Love" which has the three distinct sects "Church of Grace", the "Church of Forgiveness" and the "Church of Mercy", a bad reputation.
As a member of the latter, majority Christian group, I do believe that if you go to the grave with an atheist/agnostic mind set never having thanked you Creator for all that the Creator did on your behalf including your very life and breath and not even acknowledging the existance of the Creator, you will end up having some special personal conversations with the Creator. Based on those conversations God may decide that you really do not want to spend eternity with God and/or God can not spend eternity with you and your selfish/ungrateful attitude.
Now when Lucifer got pigheaded and thought it knew better than God how to run thing and managed to turn 1/3 of the others in heaven against God, God was still full of Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness and instead of destroying the rebels God only kicked them out of heaven and made them live in the space between worldly existance and heavenly existance. God even goave them the chance to influence/attempt to influence worldly happenings in hopes that they will some day realize their error and turn back to God.
As a human you are greater in value to God then any angel so I can not see God treating you worse than Archangel Lucifer and the lot, but I do not want to find out for myself. You see, as a Christian I am in personal relationship with God. This means God is active in my life, coaching, teaching, guiding and when necessary disiplining me. I realy do not enjoy the times of disipline so I really would hate to store up my correction and get it all at once.
Good Life To You. I pray God will find a way to reach you and let you know how much God loves you and wants to be your friend.

first you shouldn't say "all believers" because that's part of the problem. See, I don't doubt you are a person that might respect other people' beliefs, but there is also atheists that will say aloud we all catholic are delusional and stupid, which is offensive. As offensive as saying you're going to hell.
You're talking about extremist and/or fundamentalist believers, which are as much as radical as many atheist people that make fun of us believers on this site and many others.
Well, as a catholic person, we've been told that we should respect each others. Pope John Paul did try to improve our relationships with other religions as he travel to many countries, visited other religious leaders and accepted that, as they're different, they're also people whose opinion should be always valuable. But I suppose many Christians simply didn't get the message well, nor are likely to practice it.

You are entitled to believe what you like. That includes belief in nothing other than yourself. I do not profess to know who will burn in Hell as I am not God and it will be up to him to decide that. As long as you are respectful to me I can definately do the same. Even if we do not share the religious beliefs, we share the commonality of being human. That means you are the same as me and I am quite capable of picking a friend based on character as opposed to religious affiliation.

In the book of Jude it says on some have compassion making a difference. And others save with fear pulling them out of the fire;
When someone hears the truth and rejects it, they won't be able to tell God they had no warning.
