I try to avoid Jehovah's Witnesses. They won't leave you alone if you show them any interest at all. In my opinion all religions are a bunch of hooey.

A good answer to this would come from Jane Fonda while appearing on the Tonight Show along with Charlton Heston. She was talking about how movie stars were more likely to hire Jehovah's Witnesses than people from other religions as maids, gardeners, drivers, etc. because they could not be bought to release private information about their employers.
Heston asked her why didn't she become a Jehovah's Witness, if she liked them so much? She said she could not live as close to the teachings of Christ as they did, and neither could he )Heston)!
That is the main reason. With JWs, the vast majority dedicate their lives first to Christ and God comes and everything else comes second. In other religions, the majority put their personal lives first and God and Christ comes second, usually only thought about on Sunday. Not everyone, but the majority.
When you believe in God and Christ as much as they do, you want to tell others, just as the Apostles and the first Christian Jews did to their fellow countrymen. That is why other religions not only can't get their members to preach and teach, but have trouble getting ones to even do so for pay to head churches.

Here are a few quotes from years past that might be of interest to some:
“The Catholic Church has experienced waning attendance in recent years. So at the beginning of 1994, Pope John Paul II urged Italian Catholics to become active evangelizers, even preaching from door to door—much the way Jehovah’s Witnesses do.”
“Hence, Pope John Paul II has called for “the new evangelization” and has created an organization, Evangelization 2000, just for that purpose. “These strategies even include door-to-door evangelization, a method normally associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses and other Christian groups,” reports Newsday.”
“CATHOLICS Take Gospel Door to Door.” So read a headline in The Providence Sunday Journal of October 4, 1987. The newspaper reported that a major objective of this activity was to “invite some of their inactive parishioners to return to a more active parish life.” Priest John Allard, director of the Office for Evangelization in the Diocese of Providence, was quoted as saying: “Sure, there’s going to be a lot of skepticism. People are going to say, ‘There they go, just like the Jehovah’s Witnesses.’ But the Jehovah’s Witnesses are effective, aren’t they? I’ll bet you can go into any Kingdom Hall in the state [of Rhode Island, U.S.A.,] and find congregations filled with former Catholics.”
“Two independent, fundamental Baptist churches in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, have indicated approval of door-to-door evangelizing. “The Advocate,” a Red Deer newspaper, in an article in a series on local churches, quotes the pastor of one of the churches as saying: “If you look around, you see other ministries are springing up because the church is not getting its message across. . . . We’ve gotten bogged down with buildings and property and meetings instead of getting involved with people.” After telling of his starting a door-to-door work, he added: “Now when you knock on doors, people say ‘Oh no, it’s the Jehovah’s Witness[es] again.’ We want to get them to say ‘Oh no, it’s the Baptists again.’”
As to why other religions do not do it on a regular basis, Acts 5:42 and Acts 4:29-31 come to mind. Notice in Acts chapter 4, verse 31 what it was that empowered them to continue witnessing.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "preach their opinion of God". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Other religions do not knock on your door because they don't follow Matthew 24:14. Summarized it says preach the good news to all people for a witness to all nations. That is why Jehovah's Witnesses do it. And no I don't consider it harrassment because you can tell them nicely to please leave and they will not come back.

They do not have a personal opinion about the Bible. They preach exactly what it says. If a person does not want them at his door, tell them and they will put you on their "don't call back" list. They will do their best to honor your wishes.

I can't answer why other people from different religions other than Jehovah's Witnesses don't knock on your door. I don't believe that Jehovah's Witnesses want to harass you, but they are witnessing for the Lord which is what Christians are supposed to do.
I know they're hard to get away from. They used to come to our home, but we never invited them in. We would talk through the screen door or go outside to talk, no matter the weather. We weren't going to let them in. Of course I wouldn't invite people from other religious groups in either.
They're only doing what they were taught.

Yeah, i've had some bad experiences with them actually getting violent and shoving me and trying to force their way inside, really scary stuff, now i just ignore them if they come, they usually walk around the house looking in all available windows and if i stay low they go away.

I don't consider it harassment, but they certainly don't know how to take no for an answer. I hate to be rude to them, but end up closing the door in their face everytime.
