It's lenticular -- the shape of a double-convex lens (the plain chocolate ones, anyway).

This shape is called an oblate spheroid. Actually, the earth has this shape, though much less pronounced than an m&m. It's fatter around the equator because of the centrifugal force of its rotation. Not by much, though.
