It's lenticular -- the shape of a double-convex lens (the plain chocolate ones, anyway).

This shape is called an oblate spheroid. Actually, the earth has this shape, though much less pronounced than an m&m. It's fatter around the equator because of the centrifugal force of its rotation. Not by much, though.

I think you wanna know also otherwise youd know the answer and youd be able to tell your "friend". So,admit it,your curiouse about the mysterious shape of the M&M. Its a circle,right? Or its 3D so maybe a sphere?

Since they ar emade differently, the come in different shapes.

Some are disk-shaped, some are oblong, some are almond
