Okay for all of you out there that have decided to judge me for moving to a place where the owners said I had to get rid of my dogs, I guess I need to clarify since you are judging me.. The owners KNEW I had the dogs, and it was stated to me by the husband of the condo that I could keep them, THE WIFE, has decided SHE DOES NOT WANT DOGS HERE! So do I want to get rid of my dogs? NO, they are my heart and this is not easy to do so instead of judging me to make me out to be a bad pet owner ask the situation. AND for the ones that suggest I move, when you pay the rent here for the year lease that I signed so I can move then that will be an option for me, until then I had to make a decision respect the owners wishes or put my kids and I out of a home. So if you are willing to pay so I can relocate then hey I am all for it, I would love to be able to keep my dogs.. You do not have any idea how this is breaking our hearts. So judge someone else.

God, I wish I could help pay to move you. Take it to court. You had a verbal agreement, and it says nowhere in writing that dogs aren't allowed, right? He will either have to allow your dogs to stay, or release you, penelty free, from your lease. He defrauded you to get you to sign the lease.

I understand completely. I went through the same problem but I didnt have any options but to get rid of my dog. Because you know Im a kid and i dont get a say in anything. So l know the feeling. You should at least try looking for a house for sale or for rent that allows dogs so when you move out you will have a place to go but until then you should have your dog be babysat by one of your friends or a petsitter. Or you could just get rid of your dogs. But as you were saying they are your heart so i would suggest looking into other houses. So I really really truely hope this works out. And im telling you if you just hang in there and try all you can to keep your dogs even if it means not living with them until your lease is expired then probably you will have them back. good luck.

I would contact your local shelter and ask about the possibility of fostering them. Then maybe they'd still be around in a year when you could move.

Try contacting the wife and seeing what her issues are with the dogs. Is it the damage they might do? Or cleanliness issues? You could pay a pet deposit, and write out a plan of how you will deal with doggie poo, shedding, chewed corners/molding, etc. If she sees that you are a responsible owner, maybe it'll change her mind. If she's scared of dogs no matter what, like my last landlord, there may be nothing you can do.

Good luck!

If you cannot find a way to keep them then try Petfinder... just be very specific in your ad ie: if they must be kept together or what they are like and what they need in a home. You will get some spam but if you are careful you can find a wonderful home for them. If they are purebreds you can also try a rescue org. specifically for their breed but be careful because they aren't always the best at placing your dogs, you know them better than anyone. I wish you luck and am sorry that you are faced with this sad situation.

No one's judging you; at least not me. Legally, renters can't actually ban cats or dogs, especially dogs as they can be used as assists.

With that said, I am so sorry for this tough decision you had to make. I don't know where you are, if you revise your post to the closest, city and state/province I can better assist you.

Please go to petfinder.org Search for shelters in your area. Go to their website and contact. Please make sure the shelter does NOT have pound siezures.

If you have a month or so, I'd recommend posting on petfinder.org, and interviewing the new owners yourself (who knows they may even let you visit). Also you can post on craigslist, kijiji.com and sites of a simular disposition.

Please contact me if you need anymore help :) Don't feel guilty! Just make sure they find a new loving home. Good luck.

I'm not going to judge you. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

Place an ad or contact a rescue in your area. You didn't mention a breed but check out your local human society and tell them your problem. They may have a rescue group you can contact without surrendering them to the shelter.

I am sorry you are going through this and I hope you find a home for them. And to those that are judging her , at least she is not dumping them on the highway and is trying to find them a home.
