Please help me! I've been strugging to get rid of my callouses since '94. I'm a male and everytime I use a foot stone and rub the callouses off, they always grow back on my big toes. There's got to be a better way and I hope somebody can help me.

Ah, I have SOME idea about this. Basically, since your foot does not produce oils, which is a good thing in some sense, your feet will basically not displace water as well as the rest of your body. This way sweat will accumulate and create a moist environment ripe for the growth of fungi.

To get rid of it, you should either see a generalist, and possibly get a recommendation for a podiatrist. There are antifungal creams, check a drugstore, get some generic stuff, not too expensive. Don't get anything with ridiculous photoshopped before and after pics.

Um, get a callous remover, usually in the chick's section! Really good stuff, it can literally take-off about three to four millimeters of dead skin in minutes. Do it while having a warm shower, it'll make the callouses soft and will obviously displace all the gunk (oh, and make sure you open the callous file for cleaning afterwards, it's ridiculous, the little chambers fill with dead skin, it's totally gross!).

Oh, and one more thing, although fashion is completely retarded and should be exterminated, go for open-toe shoes like sandals, since they aerate better for obvious reasons.

Calluses form because something is rubbing on your toes. You probably have ill-fitting shoes. Consult a podiatrist and see if there is a permanent solution. I have had calluses on the balls of my feet since I was a child and I have just learned to live with them. Good luck!

Shoes are a cause but the underlying cause is the bone. See a good Podiatric Surgeon. There is a surgical procedure that can be done in the doctors office and it is minimally invasive. Real simple...should take care of it.
