Then was Jesus still God while separated from His Father?

If yes, where there then two Gods? (God the Father and God the Son were no longer one God?)

If no, was this not a change in the nature of Jesus?
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." - Hebrews 13:8

Or did Jesus simply "feel" forsaken by virtue of His human nature?

Reference Psalm 22

Jesus referenced Psalm 22 because it was the prophetic account of his crucifixion written a thousand years before the fact.

Anyone who was crucified and looking down at the earth from his vantage point would feel God-forsaken.

It was only a figure of speech.

God is eternally united in the Trinity, and can never change.

I believe Jesus Christ existed eternally in the form of God (John 1:1-5; Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17 and other verses); but when He was incarnated as a man in the womb of Mary it says "who although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped (ie., tenaciously held on to), but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men, and being found in appearance as a man He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross" (Philippians 2:6-8). So Jesus lived his life on Earth as a man, completely dependent upon His Father. When He died on a cross His eternal relationship with the Father was severed and He experienced complete abandonment. He died in faith believing the promise of the Father that after 3 days He would raise Him from the dead, and when the Father raised Him from the dead the Scripture was fulfilled which says "Thou art My Son, today I have begotten Thee" (Psalm 2:7; compare Acts 13:33). Nevertheless throughout the entire process Jesus never ceased to be God any more than He ceased to be a man; and He exists today and eternally as both fully God and fully Man.

There is the Holy Trinity which you seem to be confused about. This is the most difficult part of Christianity and many denominations disagree on the meaning of the Trinity. The Trinity is the Father ("God, the LORD"), the Son ("Jesus Christ"), and the Holy Ghost (which caused Mary to have Jesus). They are all separate and all the same at the same time. Jesus is separate from the Father yet he is the same God.
(not necessarily what I believe, but I know it)

There is only one God in three persons. This is called the trinity of God. There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are all one God. I know this is very confusing. There are not two or three Gods but only one.

When your father/mother turn to away from you are you still your fathers/mothers son? Jesus was still God when that happened.

He never changed....he was, is, and always will be Son of God.

God the Father, and God the Son are two and yet one.

Let me explain. You have and egg. The egg has 3 distinctly different parts. The shell the white and the yolk. They are still part of the egg even when separated.....right? Well you have God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are 3 distinctly different persons with different tasks. But they are still 1.

Jesus is the son of God - at the same time as he suggested Father why have you ever forsaken me that is because Jesus replaced into nevertheless a guy that his father God had allowed to die for the sins of guy for the unbelieving. God replaced into grieving i believe seeing his son undergo the flow. Jesus replaced into searching to his father to keep him that's basically what he did undergo in concepts Jesus suggested father forgive them for they no no longer what they do. that is at the same time as he knew he ought to quickly be which include his Heavenly Father quickly. at the same time as he ascended to his father. hence is God the daddy, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit that is the Trinity 3 in a unmarried always.

if you have faith, you can zoom out and look at that the way it's intended. jesus cried out to god, asking him why he had forsaken him. the true answer came later, three days later to be exact, in jesus' resurrection. god the father, god the son and the holy spirit are equally separate and still make one unit. a husband and wife are seen in society (or were seen in society back in the day) as "one," yet separate and equal to each other. same concept here. the term "holy trinity" implies just that. always three, yet always one. hope this helped ya. it's just my interpretation of what i was taught as a kid. blessed be!

For a short time, Jesus was "forsaken" by God because all the sins of the world was placed on Him.

Matthew 27:45-47 (KJ21)
45Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying,
"Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"
that is to say, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" 47Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, "This man calleth for Elijah."

You answered your own question by referencing Psalm 22....Jesus ,even in His pain and agony was still quoting scripture to the Jews to show He was the one King David was prophecying about in Ps.22.Even in that situation He still wanted them to know He was their Messiah, and could still save them until His final breath.
Don't forget Philippians talks about how "He thought it not robbery to be equal to God yet he emptied Himself for oursakes(Limited Himself so as to relate to us)".
God is One 1x1x1=1 in 3 persons.
