I'm not sure how old you arre, but a general rule of thumb might be to be only slightly available, and let him miss you a little. Look like you are having fun, and be upbeat with him. If it is meant to be he will realize what he is missing and come back. If he doesn't, it is his loss, not yours, because he wouldn't have been in your corner anyway.

If the conversations are going pretty well, then I wouldn't stop talking to him. I would give it some time and see if this really what you want. It might come down to the fact that you are better friends than you are boyfriend and girlfriend.
