Yes you can believe what you want. And not all wiccans do witchcraft. You can be a non active wiccan. And yes you can believe in what you want without your familiys permission or knowledge, i do. What you believe is what you believe and no one has any right to tell you what you can believe and what you cant. i hope that helps.
blessed be

I was saddened to read your question but probably not from the point you might think. I see yourseelf as a young man still living at home searching for what is behind life period. I would have to say I have never seen any convincing scientific proof that evolution has a leg to stand on. The obvious choice as you look around at the commplexity of the universe, the earth and man there must be a creator. But who is the creator? there are many religions out there but which one is right? It appears you have an interest in wicca, I can see a young person looking at something like that and the curiosity factor that goes with some of the things connected to wicca. I must warn you it is really an area you do not want to investigate as it is not of God but of the power of Satan. There are two powers in the world one is of God the other of course is of Satan. God says in His Word if you are not for me then you are against me, there is no middle ground. I myself am a Christian and am convinced the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Why Christianity over Islam, Buddism, Hinduism etc? actually it is quite obvious if you do a little research. Only the Bible has made prophecies hundreds of years prior to the event happening and with complete accuracy. These are not prophecies like Jean DIxon or Astrodamus or some clairvoyants make and are wrong more than right, these propheices have never been wrong not once. Before Christ came there were over 300 prophecies of His coming telling where He would be born and exactly how He would die. Other convincing proof, Christ was crucified on the cross and was buried and 3 days later rose from the dead! no one else has ever done that, does'nt that tell you He was different. He walked the earth for another 40 days efore ascending into heaven. He was seen by over 500 people during the 40 days. I can therefore believe all that He said or ever claimed. Roman historians recorded about Christ as did Josephus in his book "Antiquities of the Jews" in the 1st cent AD. So my friend I hope you will think seriously about what you want to get involved in, I would encourage you to take a look in the
Bible in the NT @ the book of John before you do anything, it will only cost you a little time but could through making the right choice determine where you soul will spend eternity. Write me if you have any further questions, Cheers.

You can believe in anything you want. Wicca is a beautiful, peaceful, nature based religion which is accepting of everyone's differences.
You might want to pick up a beginner's book, or maybe get into an internet class (please be sure it's a reputable one... there are several out there asking for money and it's NOT necessary to pay for the religious education). Talk to other Wiccans and take your time deciding whether or not this is really the religion for you. If it is, tell your family in your own time... if it's not, you'll eventually find what DOES suit you... but only after a lot of thought, consideration, and soul-searching.
Good luck in your journey.

A person's beliefs are their own private, personal space. What is going on in your thoughts can't be seen by anyone. You can have all the private thoughts and beliefs you want to. No one can take that from you. Now, if you're a dependent living at home, you may be subject to participating in your family's religion. Or you may be criticized for VOICING your beliefs if they are different. Most parents tend to want their offspring to follow along in their religious beliefs. And no matter how old we get, we always seem to feel like our parents' child, so we often feel we can't share our adult choices with them because they might not approve.

Of course it's okay. As long as you don't infringe on another person's rights, anything is okay. Anyway, my buddy is Wiccan, and my best summarization of the "religion" is this: Wiccan's respect the environment and believe that everything is tied together, at the core of their beliefs. That by itself, to me, merits a big "You're okay with me". In closing, I'd like to recommend you immediately talk to your parents about being a Wiccan, or whatever they call themselves. Your Dad will probably laugh at you, and your Mom will say something like "oh, aren't those the weirdos who wear makeup and dress in black?", so just be prepared. If that's what you choose to do, just do it, Nike style.

that depends on how old you are. If you have a long time left at home before you are legally an adult. Then I would keep these thought to myself if I were you. But when you are an adult, I would consider it very long and deeply, you can do that part now, look in to research it make sure you understand everything about it, and be sure that you are sure.
Religion/Spiritulality that is a big part of who you are. So Please be sure it is what you want. Yes your parents have a say until you are 18. even though you are close and their opinion matters to you, you have to decide what matters more, That is a real hard decision to make.

That's fine, as long as you're not hurting them. But don't confuse your mother laughing at the idea of ghosts with her not being tolerant of your religion. The important thing is that you are a good, moral person, and you act in a way that treats others well and equally.
Usually people are more likely to believe in magic and ghosts when they are younger, and stop believing when they get older.

You do whatever you want.Wicca is as dumb as being an evolutionist. All you are doing is creating your own reality.Creating your own fantasy world will only cause you problems down the line ,especially when things you encounter don't fit into your idea of reality.Look at your Mom,you tell her about ghosts and she ridicules.Well, they are there ,I've seen a few myself. From all I've studied...the Bible has every answer one could ever want if you know where to look.

Most Wiccans go through the phase we call "Coming out of the Broomcloset." If you are still living at home and you don't think your parents would understand, I probably wouldn't discuss it with them. After all, they can't change your belief, Only you can do that.

My experience has been that most young people who are interested in Wicca or paganism are subconsciously doing so just to "get back" at their parents for something. Why don't you try to work on that first? Search your soul and figure out exactly WHY you're interested in Wicca. Is it to "stick it" to your parents in some way? Or is it because you really think it has something to offer?
If your motives are pure, then yeah, I guess it's OK to choose whatever religion you wish. Just don't be surprised or shocked when your parents hearts are broken.
