OH YES, when you get pics from this person, ask them how recent they are!! I would get pics from guys and there were old pics and when I met them they had put on like 100#. I've heard of people sending pics that aren't even them. so yes there can be some deceit, but just ask and follow your gut feeling. if you feel like they aren't being honest ask them or don't bother to meet them. If they are being dishonest on the net then they will cont to be in person and why waste your time on that. good luck

When you meet someone that way, you shouldn't realy "expect" anything. Just let it come. The problem, when you only know someone from chats and emails is that you actaly do not know him/her; you invent him/her. You tend to read your own thoughts, desires, wishes in his/her words. So yes, you might be desapointed, but it might work too (as long as you do not meet him/her for real with a ready made idea). I staid for 1 year with someone I met on the Internet, our parting had nothing to do with the way we met! But I also met some weird guys... Even then, it was fun: isn't it always fun to meet people you wouldn't have known in your everyday life? So be carefull, of course, but go!

Yep! Has happened to me a few times. All sorts of wierdos, from those who have blatently posted pictures over 10 years old, the people with no personalities, and one in particular who cried when i said i wasn't his girlfriend, and probably wouldn't be seeing him again!
That said, there are nice, normal people out there too, it's just a matter of finding them!

Happens all the time. Bottom line, you can never really know what someone is actually like until you meet them in person.

no, but i'v heard quite a few horror stories. that's why i don't do it and if i were to consideer it i would make sure we went to a public place and was able to drive my car everywhere, had plenty of money even for unexpectant things, and friends and family knew important relevant things as far as his name where he's from, how long i'll be gone where we plan to go and his make and model car ect. you don't have to tell them everything but make sure you tell them enough and be safe you can go to the police station and get free mace if your a lady or its $2 at autozone.
