...as significant others?

Jeez it must take you a long time to sign in!

Anyway, for me the answer is no, because I've been with a partner before that didn't have a sense of humor and it just didn't work. She didn't get me, and I need my partner to get me.

However, I don't think it's impossible. It really depends on what your relationship priorities are. I think opposites can attract, too. I've had a couple of girlfriends who's senses of humor were kinda buried, but they felt that I brought that quality out in them, and I think that was probably true. Sam and Jen C said it very well.

Didn't you just ask this?

Cheers

Most likely I would think no, it matters how important a sense of humor is to the person. If a sense of humor was important to the person with that was funny, then they wouldn't work out.

It's possible when you have friends to meet needs that your partner doesn't meet. You can have more jovial conversations with friends and find a mere happy medium with your significant other. I'm living that life now and we make it work. Slowly he is coming around and understanding my humor a little more. His whole family is dry and banal, sorry but honest, he has never known how to act or react. IT CAN WORK!

yes. the funny person can give the other person a sense of humor, and the person without a sense of humor can teach the funny person when it is time to be serious.......

Not ever. Who wants to be with someone with no sense of humor? What are they? An engineer or something?

Been there. It's tough if you are the funny person to go unappreciated. You obviously sound like you'd prefer someone who appreciates you.

I'd say no.. If I had to spend a lot of time with someone who didn't like my jokes and didn't understand them I'd shoot myself..
