i want to put a bedroom in my basement. how do i do that? i need lighting, mabe insulation, and electrical outlets.

Are you serious? You might start by framing it out. All electric, insulation, lighting can be behind dry wall on top of studs. If the ceiling is high enough put in a drop ceiling. That is also good for electrical conduit and lighting. You might also raise the floor by studding and putting 1/2 plywood under which you can insulate.

You are definitly in for a major project. You first have to stud everything out, And frame out the floor to raise it off the concreate so you can insulate it. Definitly insulate the walls. All wiring for outlets should also be put up at this time, also frame out the ceiling for sheetrock or dropped ceiling. Oh boy, good luck!

I would suggest you either get a book on how to remodel, or hire a general contractor to do the work for you. Finishing a basement really can't be tought through this site!
