It has to be completely peanut free, and somewhat healthy (no cookies, cake etc). What do you make when you are "snack mom"?

Trail mix. Mix some rice chex cereal, some marshmallows, some pretzel sticks, goldfish crackers, and some raisins and then give each child a small baggie or bowl of it.

Goldfish crackers and cheese puffs are great because they use their hands-helps with hand/eye coordination.

CUT seedless grapes, kiwi, raisins, wheat thins, diced pineapple or apples, etc. The main thing to remember is not to judge by what you think they won't eat it. Kids see their peers eating something they've never had and dive right in. Kraft usually has some great ideas too.

I like the snack mix idea, but marshmallows are a choking hazard for young children. Add raisins or dried fruit for a sweet alternative.
**Kudos to you for being the snack mom**

Edible Art: I brought in several kinds of vegetables that are commonly eaten raw. Of course they were pre-washed. I also brought in toothpicks, the round kind, pointed at both ends. The children put together creations from sliced cucumbers, carrots (sliced large or whole), broccoli florets, cauliflower tops. Then, of course, we ate our creations. I was surprised at how many of my kids that normally refuse veggies at lunch really chowed down on their art!
