I've been thinking about buying this 2004 Jetta. It's an awesome car, but my friends keep telling me this is a girl's car.
But there is nothing girly about me.
If I do buy it will people think I'm sensitive or question my manhood?

If you friends are telling you its a girl car....you may want to heed their advice. I have known some guys that have owned Jetta's. Both of the guys that drove them, weren't exactly the manliest of men, and I did question their manhood. I think people will think you are sensitive...or may question your manhood. That being said, if you like it, who cares?

My Jetta is the best small car I've ever driven and I've owned dozens of cars. I'd call the Beetle a total chick car but not the Jetta. The VW will handle better, be more comfortable and offer much more performance and driving excitement than anything from Toyota or Honda. If you enjoy driving as much as I do, you'll love the Jetta. If all you care about is getting to where you're going, buy a Corolla. On the downside the Jetta will cost more to own. The insurance will be higher, your fuel costs witll be higher (premium fuel required) and maintenance costs will be higher for the German engineered car.

a car is what you make it ....a friend of mine has a jetta sitting on crome 18's all blue with beats in the back ...it doesn't look like a chicks car to me ...but if your car is hot pink sitting on bunny slippers you might get teased a lil bit...i would suggest puting some shoes on the car or doing what ever you think would make the car look more manly good luck

Naw, if you question your manhood, (whatever that means) then yeah, its a girly car. But the driver that drove the VW into the 10,000k race in Europe didnt think it was girly, and she knew cars!

It may be considered a girly car if you live in a conservative, simple minded and biased area, however where I live (southern california) I see people of all types driving this car.
This car doesn't seem to be a popular car though. Perhaps it has mechanical problems?

I DON'T THINK IT IS A "GIRL" CAR , IT IS A GENUINE GERMAN ENGINEERED CAR DESIGNED FOR ECONOMY AND LUXURY.PERSONALLY I HAVE OFTEN THOUGHT OF BUYING ONE TOO. I HAD A VW SU[PER BEETLE WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER AND I STILL TO THIS DAY MISS THAT CAR.FORGET WHAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE SAYING BECAUSE THEY WILL BE WANTING TO RIDE IN IT EVEN IF ITI IS A JETTA. I SAY BUY WHAT YOU WANT, NOT WHAT YOUR FRIENDS WANT.

not at all...Jetta's are awesome cars...and I see a lot of attractive guys driving them...you should be able to pick up quite a few chicks in this nice ride...

It's a car, pure and simple -- and a pretty good one at that. Unless it's hot pink, it's not a "girly" car.

yes anything with VW on it is pretty mucha girl car or it is the only car that fat guys want to drive in
