Well they shouldn't. If you need to have someone in your life you will likely not be in the best relationships. You end up being in a relationship for the sake of the relationship and not the person. The best and healthiest dating occurs when you both parties are comfortable with themselves and don't 'need' the other person but 'choose' to be with the other person because it enhances thier life. If you think you need a boyfriend you would probably be best served by being single for awhile. You'll find out a lot about yourself and be a strong more confident person in the end.

Not if they're gay. But many straight girls don't need them, either. The question is between "need" and "want". Many just want them, but don't really need them. There is much to be learned by being self-sufficient and not having a boyfriend to fall back on. That is, unless the right one comes along. Then you should definitely go for it.

No. I'm 13 and never had a boyfriend. I believe that if I have lived all this time without a boyfriend then i can live longer without a boyfriend.

depends on what people prefer, if they prefer to be single then they don't need boyfriends, i prefer to be with someone, so I got myself a husband, now I have someone to spend the rest of my life with :)

It depends on if your high maitenence or not... and if your co-dependent. Gurls don't need boyfriends but some (most) want them.
