If I swore in front of my colleagues they would have to sit and take a powder. Librarians are not know for their colourful language. Mind you, some days I would love to burst out and tell them all what stuffy, old fashioned, opinionated old feckers they are. Lovely.

Not me but my ex. A former school friend ,who was well acquainted with my husband, at our first meeting with her husband made the statement: 'I always say, if a woman can cook and she's good in bed, then the man's all right.' My husband looked at her husband and asked, 'Can she cook?' He said 'Yes,' and dear hubby said, 'Well you're all right then.' Which left the guy stammering, 'Well, I realise you've known my wife longer than I have....'
