Get a small can (I think they are 3 oz) of limeade. Dump it in the blender. Fill the can with tequila (use a decent one!). Add to blender. Then fill the can half way with triple sec OR, if you can afford it, either Contrieau (spelling???) or Grand Marnier. Add about 2 cups of ice and blend. Be careful...these are potent.

A Margarita can be made many ways. Generally, people use mix, throw in some ice, a shot of cheap tequila, and some triple sec to make these abominations. First of all, it is best to use frozen Limeade for your beverages so they don't taste so much like a powdered drink. If you can afford a decent Tequila, it will help. Try to stay away from anything that has been colored caramel, which means if it is caramel color and is not an Anejo.

I would say 3/4 of a cup of mixed Limeade over half a cup of ice with a shot of a good silver and an optional 1/3 of a shot of triple sec is a good place to start. I like more tequila and less juice, but most people don't, so work to taste. Just make sure you use limeade instead of mixer. PS: other flavorful additions... finish with a dash of real lime juice, or add a bit of lime marmaladeto your base if you are blending them. Don't forget the Margarita salt.

I usually just pick up some Margarita Mix at the grocery store. Jose Cuervo makes it. You can get regular or Strawberry. Put ice in the blender first, then tequila, then the mix, and Voila, Margaritas!

Or, if you really want to make them yourself without mix, it's

1 1/2 measures (6 tsp) tequila
1/2 measure (2 tsp) Cointreau
juice of a lime

Blend Ice, tequila, cointreau and lime juice, salt the rim of the glass and you're done!

Go to your local Grocery store and pick up a bottle of Margarita Mix, they will have instructions ON the bottle for a perfect REGULAR margarita.

"Margarita"

Blend 1 1/2 oz. tequila, 1/2 oz. triple sec, 1/2 oz. unsweetened lime juice; add ice. Rim cocktail glass with salt; garnish with slice of lime.

"Margarita"

Stir well with 3/4 cup cracked ice: 5 jiggers tequila, 2 1/2 jiggers lime or lemon juice, 1/2 jigger triple sec. Pour into glasses, the rims of which have been rubbed with citrus rind and then spun in salt.

2 oz Tequila
2/3 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed)
1 1/3 oz Cointreau

Shake with ice, strain into salt rimmed glass, serve.

(do not use margarita mixer, it tastes horrible!)
