You mean, if you give your number to a girl and she loses it?

I don't know that someone can steal the actual number. That would be like, someone stealing your mailing address.

Could you please clarify?

You cannot insure the number itself. However, some carriers are starting to write identity theft protection which does cover some of the legal costs and resulting damages from identity theft. The average limit is up to $5,000.

you cannot. but by law if you lose the phone in some state and in most have the phone stolen you are not legaly liable for the charges. cancel it asap and report it to the police and then get the report from the police send to the pho co.
