He's not really all that mature at 18.
But, a 5 year age gap isn't TOO bad.
It's when you're 97 and he's 12, then it becomes a serious psychological issue.

Age doesnt matter. As long he is a mature for his age thats all that matters. It rare that you find a male at 18 that is as mature as a female 23. Just go into the relationship know that this man has to deal with the same thing you did at 18. You remember your college days right.

My bf is 19 and im 24. He's really mature for his age though or I don't think I could be with him. This is his last year to get his BA in biomedical sciences and has just gotten accepted into a medical professional school. We have alot in common and some not, but thats good. If you were both totally the same you would be bored. As long as you are good together thats all that matters and that you are at about the same maturity level and looking for the same things.

Yes age does matter when ur 23 and hes 18....He will change during his early 20's most of them for the better and gain maturity.

Age only matters if you let it matter. 5 years isn't a big age difference; it may seem like it to your parents because you're both so young, but if the age difference doesn't bother you or him, then it shouldn't matter. Good relationships don't come around that often, after all.

When i was 18 i dated a 29 year old, so i dont think it matters. If he is mature and you love each other thats all that matters.

It depends on the people involved. he maybe mature for his age! My man is 26 and im 33 and we are perfection! We proved all the HATERS wrong! We are very much in love and will be together forever!

TRUST ME AGE DO MATTERS, BECAUSE IF YOU ARE HAVING SEX WITH THAT NOW 17YR OLD, YOU CAN GO TO JAIL. HE IS STILL A CHILD AND WHAT ABOUT YOU WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH HIM, SEX, YOU CAN GET THAT FROM SOME ONE YOUR OWN AGE.
