We are catholic and live in a small town in Illinois. We started out with eight parishes and in two years we are now down to four. Anyone else experiencing a similar situation?

I wasn't referring to churches eliminating priests due to sexual abuse. I just meant that there is a shortage in general, because not as many people are becoming priests.

no, i have lots of good priests in new england. i dont kno about u put i've had it up to here with people bitchin over the pedo preist thing, there are creep pervos everywere people!!! sheesh! i bet there are tons of sex offenders in schools an boy scouts an big brothers for fatherless whatevers that no one gives a flyin **** about becuase they just use the priest pedos to bash religion cuz they r hateful bastards!

In Boston there was lots of pedophile priests not too long ago. It cost the church millions. I'm not even Catholic but I think its very sad.

Yes, all the priests in my town just go on myspace to meet young boys. So much for the old-fashioned way.

Nope.
There's plenty of priests in my area.
There's a predominant hispanic and Italian population.

Yes. My city is affected in that there are many less sexually aboused boys now that there are less priests.

It's probably a good thing, it shows they are getting the molestors off the streets ( I mean churches)
