I have a 2006 Toyota corolla. Is there a way to disconnect the buzzer that sounds if the seatbelts are not plugged in.

Please not commnets on the use and safety of seat belts.
I know all about the pros and cons of wearing them. Seat belts are NOT required where we live.

The 2006 Toyota Corolla has a black box in it and if you were to get into a accident it would show if you had your seat belts on and that could weigh in on the insurance does in the claim. IF you do not have a seat belt law in your state you could buy the piece that snaps in your buckle and just leave it there. You could find these ot the junk yard

You don't ,, the seatbelts are tied into the restraint control module, the RCM has to have the status for the seatbelt or it will set a DTC in the computer system. hard DTCs get transmitted to other modules. Leave it alone.

If it were me, I'd track down where the noise was coming from and pull the wire connector off of it, but I wouldn't tell you to do that. I'd rather see everyone wear the belts because less serious bodily injury equals lower insurance premiums for me and everyone else!

Sounds like you are looking toward the fun and adventure of flying through the window and onto the street and adding insult to injury, feeling that unmistakable pressure of car tires running you over to finish the not quite finished job.
Do not mean to be fatalistic.
