If she saw you with a beard when you asked her out, then keep the beard. If she says yes to a second date, keep the beard. Shave it for the third date so that she knows what she's in for if she keeps dating you.

Take a shower and use deodorant, but skip the cologne crap; stay scentless. The natural smell is fine if you two are camping together, unless a shower is available. Women do prefer that you smell clean; unpleasant body odor is a turn off to women in this country.

ok first always shower, soap and use deodorant. Are you insane? When you get somewhat serious take her to the gym or something and let the natural smell off but never in the early going. If your looking for a kiss, you better shave that beard because as i have learned women like it shaved. Don't you like it when they shave for you?

Has she already seen you with the beard? If so, why shave? If she knows you bearded and you show up clean shaven, she might get the impression that you expect more than a date. That said, stubble isn't (usually) sexy. If you have an actual beard, it should be neatly trimmed. If you have stubble and just call it a beard, by all means shave.

As to the "natural smell" thing -- soap is _mandatory_. Show up clean. If you want your natural scent to be what she notices, skip the cologne. You might also forgo deoderant, but use anti-perspirant (there are products that are one but not the other; read the labels carefully).

As well as clean clothes, shoes, socks and underwear!
Cologne is optional, some women/chicks are very scent sensitive... you don't want to give her a headache...
Shave... It depends on the beard... If you had it when she agreed to go out with you then, make sure it is trimmed and neat and CLEAN! If you didn't have it when you asked her out then shave it off.

Yes on the soap and deoderant, no heavy cologne though. As far as the beard goes, if you met her with the beard, leave the beard. You don't want to show up and her think you aren't the same guy she thought you were.
