Sweets are my weakness, and I'm addicted to them. But after eating refined sugar products such as candy bars, cupcakes, or even cereal, I can barely stay awake, or get very irritated or depressed. I feel the same way after drinking regular sodas. So I only drink caffiene and sugar free sodas. I've seen a doctor, and I'm not hypoglycemic or even close to being diabetic. So I suppose refined sugar just does not agree with my body so I try to avoid them. Has anyone else had this experience?

Also, eating sugar causes such a change in my personality, those close to me can tell when I've ate something sweet without be even telling them. I really hate this, because I love sweets. When I don't eat it, I'm fine.

Hey Poohbear, I'm not happy sugar makes you feel this way, but it's good to know I'm not alone. It's the same way with me. I love, love, love sweets, but the least amount starts the viscious circle. My mother says it's almost like I'm drunk, and I'm not a drinker. I'd be an alchoholic for sure if I drank, because it's mostly carbs. Excess carbs does me the same as refined sugar.
