Some people might not mind and say that it's alright. However, as a high school student myself, I would get annoyed if someone does it all the time. It also might annoy people whose pet peeves include burping, and it surely isn't a good table manner.
It might be alright now because it's at a high school: but once you go somewhere formal with your girlfriend and she burps in front of everyone, you are probably going to get icy stabs in your back!
If it disturbs you or bothers you, why don't you just tell her how you feel?

Actually, the queen of etiquette herself, Emily Post, says that while obnoxious belching is extremely rude, burping at the table IS acceptable, so long as you include a "pardon me/excuse me".

The only way to belch politely is to do it as qietly as possible, cover your mouth and say excuse me afterwards. I have noticed that, even among my own generation (I'm 44), people do not know how to behave in public. If a woman I was dating was rude enough to belch loudly and not excuse herself, I'd leave her right there at the table.
