I'm studying to be a Medical Assistant and I had to take Medical Math(dosage Calculations) and I did surprisingly well in the class despite being HORRIBLE in math. Don't be so hard on yourself. Study up on fractions and decimels and the metric system..it isn't as confusing as you think it is. Study hard - YOU CAN DO IT!;)

Go to a well stocked public library, and spend a few hours weeding through the math books there to find one at your level that is well written.

Its always a good idea to study geometry also, at least go 30 pages into the book.

But for a nurse, college algebra is a must.

First of all you don't have to be very good in math to be a nurse. You have to be good in science. You just have to be a caring person and a hard-worker. And by the way, you will not be good in math if you have in your mind that you are not good. Just pay attention in class and ask questions and you will be okay. I want to be a Physician and I used to find math complicated but now it is easier than I thought.

mutually as i'm particular you're able to do something you place your ideas to, the certainty of the situation is that nursing classes are math and technological information based. i'm at present in an RN software (associate degree). To be customary, I had to take Chemistry, Anatomy and physique shape one million & 2, Microbiology and bypass a math competency examination. Nursing colleges are enormously aggressive and making C's in those middle instructions in basic terms won't decrease it, you particularly would desire to have an A or B. each semester we are required (with the aid of this methodology i'm in) to bypass a dosage calculation examination with ninety% or greater advantageous. You get 2 tries, after which you at the instant are not any greater allowed to stay contained in this methodology. i understand to alter right into a CNA you at the instant are not required to have all those instructions bacause this is greater care based and not patho based like RN classes. additionally, the CNA certification is barely 6 months. in case you pick to get into nursing, try a CNA or LPN software to be sure in case you like it. you could continuously develop your occupation from there. solid success!

As a prior nurse myself: I would say ( and this may sound lam, but it works): use what you are good at towards what you are not. And by all means: Make the learning experience fun for you.
