what is sweetened condensed milk supposed to smell like??

i opened a can a can it smells kind of sour. is it ok to use?

IT shouldn't really have a strong smell. It should taste sweet though. Taste test it.. (just a tiny bit). I love the taste!

Sour is never a good sign. Did the can hiss or sound pressurized when you opened it? Be careful, botulism is dangerous and can be deadly. If you are at all in doubt, take the can back to where you bought it, and demand an exchange.
