In the olden days graves markers were usually piles of stones. If they got scattered by the weather or other means the relatives would re-pile the stones as a show of respect. Now the placing of pebbles is way to show respect and say this grave is tended and cared for. Another custom is derived from shepherds who kept count of their sheep with pebbles. A pebble on the headstone is a reminder that this is one of Gods own flock.

The symbolism of putting a rock on the grave is that there'll be an eternal reminder that somebody who cared regarding the deceased has visited. i be responsive to somebody who, on each occasion they have a 2d that they bear in mind their pal, they %. up a rock and the subsequent time they pass to the grave they place it on the stone. In result expressing their desire that the lifeless individual might have been there with them at that 2d.
