Well, make sure you agree with the doctrine. Make sure the pastor isn't a crook. You want to feel like you "get" something out of the teachings there. And make sure you feel comfortable with the church members. Also, you might want to check out the various programs the church offers, if you're interested in more than attending regular Sunday services.

Hmmmm...if your a man that isnt prejiduce a mega multi-cultural (mainly including races too) church is good...it defeats ackwardness and is something good for all races. A church that has alot of activities and does something good in the community. A preacher that is down to earth and thats not too obnoxious when he preaches and yet not too laid back and boring and a church that you like basically lol.

PRAY.GOD HAS A PLACE FOR YOU.
IT IS YOUR SPOT,WHERE YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN FILL THAT SPOT.
FIND OUT IF THE CHURCH IS LINING UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD.
DO THEY SUPPORT A MISSIONARY
FEED THE HUNGRY
CLOTH THE NAKED
SHELTER THE HOMELESS
VISIT THE SICK
BECOME A FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS
SOME CHURCH DO THIS ON A SMALL LEVEL,SOME ON A LARGE LEVEL.
BUT IT IS WHAT JESUS TOLD THE CHURCH TO DO.

as long as they teach the WORD of God, don't turn scripture around to mean something different. For a church family you should feel comfort, and all have a real thirst for Gods Word, love each other and strive to be Christ-like. God Bless

In my experience, the first is location. To support your local church is the best, then look at other factors. Only if you really can't stick your nearest church should you look elsewhere - that is my advice.

Do you most agree with the doctorine? That is most important. Some things you can get past, like baptism, but others, like sacrificing animals, you can not! (hee hee) but seriously.
