Ok I have the worst oily hair... I can wash it in the morning and it will be great for the rest of the day, by the time I wake up the next morning.. it is horribly oily and I have tried everything, the baby powder in hair, all oily hair products, and nothing works. I have to wash it everyday and this is damaging my hair. It sucks. Now a days I can't even find anything for oily hair. There has to be someone else with this problem. I don't have a problem with getting up everyday and washing my hair... I just wish their was a shampoo that would help me out some. thanks a bunch

You'll have to wash your hair every day, that's a given. But you can choose what kind of shampoo and conditioner you use. Use a formula with gentle moisturizers, rather than an oil-busting formula. Follow with a gentle, rinse-out conditioner (not a leave-in). I'm going to suggest using the Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo (in the pink bottle), which is very affordable. Follow with Infusium 23 conditioner. Once a week, use a deep-conditioning mask (Pantene has a new one in a huge jar- you'll get at least three months' use out of it, and it's cheap). Never wash your hair with really hot water (always use gentle, warm water) and massage your scalp GENTLY (too much pressure will over-stimulate oil glands). Invest in a hair towel to absorb most of the water from your hair before you blow-dry.

I also have very oily hair
The trick to not damaging your hair is to switch off shampoos
I use this amazing shampoo called Head & Shoulders Refresh. It's made with mint so it feels really fresh and keeps your oil free. I also use Johnson's Head-to-toe Baby Wash for my hair. I switch off using Head & Shoulders about 5 times a week and the Johnson's twice a week.
And you probably already know that the creamy shampoos like Pantene Pro V arent good for oily hair. It's usually the clear gel shampoos that are the best. Funny though, because the Head & Shoulders one isnt a gel. It works wonderfully though. Even if you dont have dandruff. It keeps your hair feeling soo fresh.

Hope this helps :)

Buy some "hair serum". Its a hair oily serum. It's great when straightenning hair. Use a round brush and blow dry a small section at a time. Once it is straight put some of this oil hair serum. It is important to apply it when your hair is still hot. Just use a dab or it will be too oily.

I know this might sound funny...but I too have had this problem my entire life. Several months back I started using V05 Normal and other products that are for regular hair not oily hair. It has made a world of difference. I can now go two days without washing my hair which is much better for your hair. Sometimes the products you use to help your hair only makes them worse!!!
Good luck!

I agree with the response about the styling products. They can make it worse due to the alcohol in them that dry the scalp, making your hair produce MORE oil. You should try a scalp spray that invigorates. Bumble and Bumble makes a spray product called TONIC LOTION that actually tingles the scalp and feels wonderful-however, it actually prepares the hair for styling products. As a former cosmetologist I was skeptical, but it is wonderful.

Had the smae problem before. there is nothing that will keep it unhealthy but the shampoo and conditioner that seemed to cure all was garnier fructis. their sleek and shine or dandruff lines both work very well.

IF YOUR USING A LOT OF DIFFERENT PRODUCTS AFTER WASHING YOUR HAIR TO STYLE IT LIKE MOUSE, THAT JUST MAKES IT WORSE. TRY TO JUST WASH IT, MINE WAS THE SAME WAY.DON'T BRUSH IT A LOT. JUST ONCE OR TWICE A DAY.
